DOWNTOWN NORTHVILLE’S OLD CHURCH SQUARE BUSINESSES TO HOST OPEN HOUSE – First Friday, May 6
The businesses located in Downtown Northville’s Old Church Square building – located on the corner of N. Center Street and Dunlap – are hosting an Open House on Friday, May 6 (4-7 p.m.). The event is open to the public and will take place during Downtown Northville’s popular First Friday Experience. A historic Victorian church, the two-story, 25,000 square foot Old Church Square was completely renovated in 2003 by the building’s owners, Northville residents, Bob and Margene Buckhave. Old Church Square is home to a mix of retail and service-oriented businesses such as PCS Global Counseling, Centered Body Work, Stampeddler Plus Memories, Broughton Music, What a Massage, KB Jewelers, Jack’s Barber Shop, Northville Dermatology, and more.
During the Open House on Friday, May 6 guests will be greeted by live music by the 26-piece Novi Middle School Chamber Orchestra outside in the Old Church Square Courtyard from 4-6 p.m. (weather permitting) and if there is inclement weather, the music will take place inside Old Church Square. McSpillin, an Irish folk band will also perform inside Old Church Square from 4-6 p.m. Open House attendees are welcome to visit the various businesses in the building. Each location will be offering a little something different at their business, including light snacks and specials. “We are excited to see the veteran and new businesses located in Old Church Square working together to provide unique experiences to guests in Downtown Northville. The building is beautiful and houses a mix of service and retail that provide wonderful shopping options and resources to residents and neighbors,” said Lori Ward, Northville Downtown Development Director. Old Church Square is located on Center Street at the corner of Center and Dunlap in Downtown Northville.

Artist Bio: I have found great passion in creating the colors and textures which eventually bloom into a bold, vibrant flower. For me, flowers have always induced feelings of joy, peace and warmth. These feelings are what I try to capture and convey through my paintings.
In painting these flowers, I feel as though I have bloomed internally as a person, a mother, a friend and an artist. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to share my passion for art and flowers.
Internal Bloom was born after my first solo exhibit in 2010. My work is sold through my website, social media, art fairs, exhibits and galleries. In 2011, I began instructing acrylic painting classes. I offer acrylic painting classes for both adults and children throughout the year. Classes are offered at Plymouth Community Arts Council in Plymouth, MI. In 2015, I launched Expressions in Bloom, a line of framable greeting cards and collectable gift boxes containing note cards, all derived from my original art.
