In 2005, Beckett and Raeder Inc., an Ann Arbor based landscape architecture, planning, and engineering firm was hired by the City to develop a Strategic Plan for downtown Northville that would guide improvements, both physical and economic, in the downtown for the next 5-7 years. The Strategic Plan was completed in June and adopted by City Council on July 17, 2006. As recommended in the Strategic Plan, the DDA established five subcommittees to serve as the mechanism for the implementation of the Strategic Plan: Design, Marketing, Parking, Organization, and Economic Development (formerly Business Mix). In 2010 a sixth Committee was added, the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is made up of 2 members of City Council, 2 members of the DDA, the City Manager and DDA Director. The Executive Committee meets once a month to discuss projects and issues that require coordination between the City and DDA.
