Sheldon Road Detour
Representatives from Wayne
County have indicated that Sheldon Road at the railroad tracks
will close to all traffic beginning January 9, 2007. This will
affect ALL north and southbound traffic at the railroad
crossing. The road closing is for the Sheldon Road Underpass
project and it is expected to remain closed for two years. North
and South Sheldon Road traffic which crosses the Railroad tracks
should make alternate routing plan effective Tuesday, January

Located about 30 miles
northwest of downtown Detroit, the Northville community straddles Wayne
and Oakland counties and comprises 2.2 square miles of City of
Northville and 16.5 square miles of Northville Township. The city
has approximately 7,000 residents, and the population of the city and
township combined is a little over 28,000.
The City of Northville
can be easily accessed off of M-14 and I-96 both running east and west,
or I-275 running north and south. The Detroit Metropolitan Airport
is situated 17 miles south of Northville off of I-275.
Lansing, Michigan’s capital city is located 50 miles directly west of
Northville off of I-96.
