Regina Abraham

Studio 427 / Taurus Café
122 W. Main St.
248 - 449 - 6501

Six unique shops are now open in the new 120 West Main Building. One block west of the city center is Studio 427 - regina abraham gallery of art. This art gallery is unlike any other gallery in downtown Northville as its focus is on local talent. Artists from all areas of Michigan, as well as Northville residents and artists Paul Vertrees, Darcel Deneau and Joan Potter Thomas have their own unique mediums on display at Studio 427. Regina’s focus is on supporting creativity. Jeff Spade, Brad Henry, Rochell Hicks – these names are just a few of the artists you will learn to appreciate as you make your way through Studio 427. These artists are not known worldwide or even nationwide, but nonetheless their talents are exceptional and their passion for art is evident in every piece.

Corner of store showing art on wall. The art at Studio 427 are pieces that easily fit into a variety of lifestyles – acrylics and watercolors, pottery, hand-painted glass plates and lamps, garden art and wearable art are all one-of-a-kind pieces. “Found object” describes art created from common objects that are not normally considered art thus blurring the traditional distinction of what is art, and what is not art. Paul Vertrees is just one of several found object artists that think outside of the box with works on display and for sale at the Northville studio. Before you toss that old rake and wrench, nuts and bolts, car parts and water spigots come in to see how they can be given new life as a piece of art.

Wearable artWearable art is found in a variety of mediums including jewelry. Beautiful glass pendants by Ann Carol and necklaces, bracelets and earrings made of sterling silver, finely polished stones and beads are the perfect accessory to complement your personality. Automobile parts are now being worn as belt buckles by the gentlemen and also accessorizing women. Purses of vintage automobile fabrics adorned with genuine emblems from some of the coolest cars are making fashion statements. Belt buckles sporting sway bars and calipers and umbrellas with gear shift knobs are the greatest for car buffs. Not ready to wear your car parts, how about checking the time on a clock made from a brake rotor?

Single piece of art on wall. Each month a different artist takes the spotlight at Studio 427 in time for the increasingly popular First Fridays Art Walk.  The first Friday of each month, February through December, Regina will host a wine and cheese reception featuring an artist that is otherwise not displayed in her studio. Currently an entire wall is devoted to mixed media artist, Stephanie Sarris.

CafeRegina Abraham is venturing down many creative avenues. The Taurus Café within Studio 427 is a fun spot to sip on a cup of your favorite hot beverage while taking in the sights of the various mediums of art. Café tables from discarded street signs, designed and created by Regina at the Abraham Design Studio, are the perfect spot to enjoy flavored coffees & teas, espresso, lattes and mochas. For the younger set hot chocolate or cider is perfect for warming up on a cold winter day.

Regina has found new friends in the proprietors of the shops at 120 West Main. Very soon she will be hosting a fashion show showcasing men’s and women’s apparel from Alexander’s, Rococo and Urban Blues, all located in the new building. The fashion show will take place at Northville High School; Studio 427 will be the setting for the post fashion show VIP party. Studio 427 could be the setting for your next event, too. It’s the perfect place to host your next birthday party, office get together or other special event that calls for something unique. Watch for more information on rental opportunities and upcoming special events at Studio 427 on this website.

While shopping in downtown Northville, take a few extra steps from the city center to welcome the new shop owners in the 120 West Main Building. Rococo, Alexander’s of Northville, Studio 427 - regina abraham gallery of art, Swearingen Visions, Cingular Wireless and Urban Blues are all open and ready to assist you.

Great things are happening in Northville!
