Fine Threads
105 E. Main Street
248 - 349 - 5097

The finest in gentlemen’s apparel, as well as the finest in customer service can be found just around the corner at Mark Trudeau’s Fine Threads. Whether you’re dressing for a casual weekend get away, a day at the office or a holiday gala, let Fine Threads create an image suited for you. Additions to your wardrobe may include everything from basic necessities to casual trousers and knit shirts to upscale suits with dress shirts and silk ties. Complete the look with a handsome leather or wool outer garment complemented with a warm scarf and pair of gloves.

                  John Torosian

The haberdashers at Fine Threads bring 77 years of combined knowledge and experience to the table. Proprietor and Northville resident, Mark Trudeau is committed to serving Northville by investing into his own building on Main Street, and to Northville’s clientele. As well as being the haberdasher of note, to many of the Detroit area’s top executives, Fine Threads features only the finest lines of menswear from Italy and the United States. Mark prides himself in the knowledge that many of his clients have become his personal friends. John Torosian joined Mark just a year ago, but his credentials include 32 years as general manager at Price’s Menswear in Dearborn.

At Fine Threads you may choose from these manufactures of fine menswear.

Zanella – The finest slacks from Italy.
Joseph Abboud – Shop for suits and sports coats (seen at all major retailers), while enjoying personal service at Fine Threads.
Tallia – Italian-designed, American-made clothing available to size 66 (custom and stock service).
Gran Sasso – Italian knitwear, cashmere sweaters, dressy tees.
Robert Talbott – The hottest neckwear fashions from California and the last manufacturer of handmade ties and suits in the U.S.
Jhane Barnes – Creative patterns in hosiery.
Allen Edmonds - American made shoes in sizes AAA to EEEE.
Ingram – Featuring the new silhouette in Italian dress shirts from the finest Egyptian cotton.
Luigi Bianchi (Lubiam) – Oldest Italian clothing maker in all of Italy, custom suits and sports coats available.

Suits and shirts may be handmade to your specifications. From the comfort of their leather sofa Mark or John will suggest fabrics from an array of swatches. In house measurements will be taken and your custom fit garment will be ready to wear in about two weeks. For your next black tie event arrive in style with a new tuxedo custom fit for you.

                  Maria Ross

In house alterations are in the hands of seamstress Maria Ross at Bentley’s Alterations. Of course, there is no charge for alterations on merchandise purchased at Fine Threads. Outside tailoring is always welcome; and your garments will be returned tailored to your fit generally within one week. If emergencies arise, exceptions will be made. For 35 years Maria has been altering shirts, trousers and suits for the gentlemen as well as ladies everyday attire and gowns for those special events in her life.

Mark Trudeau’s personality is captured in every detail throughout the shop. His love for golf is evident in the photographs hung on the wall. A model ship, once owned by his father, now adorns the fireplace mantle. Mark’s desire to set Fine Threads apart from the mall atmosphere is found in cabinets crafted in rich wood tones, sweaters displayed in antique trunks and a shoe niche complete with a barbershop chair. Your shopping experience is complete when your items are rung in on an early 1900’s cash register.
