Art ClassesAwakening’s art instructors bring with them a mix of creative and professional backgrounds. Classes are taught in a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, watercolor, oil, acrylics and pastels.

"King Arthur & the Knights of the Round Table" Summer Art Camps have begun and will continue through mid August for ages 3 and up. The land of Camelot comes alive as the magical world of King Arthur is studied while creating projects and learning techniques from basic drawing skills to wax designs, clay sculpting, enchanted forests in oil pastels and so much more.

SuppliesArt classes are also taught in weekly sessions. Adults can learn or expand their knowledge of calligraphy, tissue painting, oil portraits, etc. Young artists will bring their talents to the surface in creative drawing, sculpting or anime'. The "Passport Series" will let your child immerse themselves in the arts from other nations. The second session in the "Passport Series" takes  your child on an artistic journey to distant West Africa including Mali, Nigeria and Ghana.

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up"
--- Pablo Picasso

Awakening...The Artist Inside offers an art curriculum designed to complement the home-schooled student's education program.  The curriculum has been developed to capture a child's attention and interest by extensive student participation throughout the learning process.

Robyn Mewha, Marketing & Sales Director, manages the day-to-day operations of Awakening and will assist you in selecting your art supplies or registering for classes.

Papper suppliesAwakening…the Artist Inside, as well as Sherrus Gallery of Fine Art, is owned by Sherri R. Mewha, who has been a collector of fine art for over 20 years. She is active with the Northville Arts Commission, Northville Chamber of Commerce and is the current president of the Northville Central Business Association. She carries exemplary credentials with a BA in Business Administration/Marketing, spent over 20 years in an executive capacity with a Fortune 1000 Company and is an artist with significant experience in education and program development.
